Dr. Idrees is a Professor of Pulmonary Medicine at the University of British Columbia (UBC), Vancouver, Canada, and the Head of Pulmonary Vascular Unit at Prince Sultan Military Medical City, KSA.
He is the current Lead of the Pulmonary Embolism Rapid Response Team and the Chronic Thromboembolic Pulmonary Hypertension Programs.
He was the first to establish the pulmonary hypertension services in the Middle East region and is the founder, and the former head, of the Saudi Association of Pulmonary Hypertension.
He has more than 70 publications in peer-reviewed journals and gave more than 600 lectures in national and international conferences.
He is the primary author of the Saudi Pulmonary Hypertension Guidelines and a co-author of both Saudi Guidelines for Asthma and COPD.
Dr. Idrees was recognized for his achievements in the field of pulmonary hypertension by the Pulmonary Vascular Research institute (PVRI), the Saudi Thoracic Society (STS), and his name was added to the "Pulmonary Hypertension Committee of Honor" chosen by the PH international organizations.

Professor Ashraf Alzaabi, MB, FRCPC, FCCP, EMHCA is a senior respiratory physician who served at Zayed Military Hospital in Abu Dhabi, United Arab Emirates, from 2006 to 2025. He was elected President of the Emirates Thoracic Society (ETS) in February 2019. At Zayed Military Hospital, he served as Chief of Medicine in 2021, then as Chief Medical Officer in February 2022. In 2024, he was appointed Director of the Defence Health Support Administration (DHSA) at the UAE Ministry of Defence.
Professor Alzaabi graduated from the Royal College of Surgeons in Ireland in 1997, and completed six years of residency training in internal medicine and respirology at the University of Toronto, Canada (2000-2006).
He is board-certified in both specialties in Canada and the United States.
Appointed Full Professor of Medicine at the College of Medicine and Health Sciences, UAE University in 2018 (joining the faculty as Assistant Professor in 2007), he has been recognized with multiple awards, including the Murray Muirhead Award (2001) from the University of Toronto and the Abu Dhabi Medical Distinction Award in Clinical Performance (2013) from the then Health Authority-Abu Dhabi (HAAD).
As Director of Medical Education at Zayed Military Hospital (2007-2010), he secured Arab Board accreditation for the hospital's first Internal Medicine Residency Program and established a formal academic affiliation with UAE University, designating the hospital as a teaching site for undergraduate and postgraduate training.
He completed an Executive Master in Health Care Administration at Zayed University in 2010 and chaired the Internal Medicine Examination Committee at HAAD from 2010 to 2014. Professor Alzaabi has published more than 65 peer-reviewed studies on asthma, COPD, and sleep-disordered breathing.

He is a Senior Clinical Lecturer in the RCSI. Dr. Muneer got his MD from Arabian Gulf University in Bahrain in 2005. He completed his residency training program in SMC hospital and got the Arab Board Medical Specializations Certificate in internal medicine and the MRCP diploma.
He is a holder of a Specialty Certificate in Respiratory Medicine from the Royal College of Physicians in the UK.
Dr. Muneer completed his Respiratory training in the Royal Medical Services (King Hussein Medical Center)- Kingdom of Jordan and obtained a Clinical Fellowship in Pulmonary and Sleep Medicine.
He is a core member of the severe asthma clinic and the multidisciplinary pulmonary hypertension clinic in Salmaniya Medical Complex - Government Hospitals.

Dr. Zaid holds an MBBS from Jordan University of Science and Technology and the Arab Board Certification in Internal Medicine.
She completed her respiratory training at Royal Medical Service (King Hussein Medical Center)- Kingdom of Jordan and obtained a Clinical Fellowship in Pulmonary and Sleep Medicine.
She is trained in advanced endobronchial ultrasound bronchoscopy (EBUS). She is a core member of the Severe Asthma Clinic, with a special interest in airway diseases and difficult-to-treat asthma.
Dr. Zaid is actively engaged in clinical research, with publications in high-impact journals including Breathe (ERS), The Journal of Association of Chest Physicians, and the Journal of Infection and Public Health.
Her work focuses on improving outcomes in severe asthma, pulmonary disorders, and sleep-related breathing conditions.

Dr. Nasser Al Busaidi has been serving as a Senior Consultant in Respiratory Medicine at the Royal Hospital in Muscat since 2004. He previously served multiple terms as Head of the Respiratory Department at the hospital and is the former President of the Oman Thoracic Society.
He graduated with an MBBS from King Faisal University (1996) and holds multiple fellowships, including: MRCP (UK) 1999, Fellowship in Respiratory & Sleep Medicine (Royal Brisbane Hospital, Australia) 2003, FRCP Edinburgh 2006, FCCP (USA) 2010 and FRCP Ireland 2011. He also completed a master's degree in Pulmonary Hypertension (Bologna, Italy) in 2012. Dr. Al Busaidi has authored approximately 25 publications, mainly in asthma and other respiratory diseases such as interstitial lung disease, sarcoidosis, and pulmonary embolism.

Dr. Behbehani obtained his medical degree from the Royal College of Surgeons, Ireland, in 1988. He completed residency training in Internal Medicine and fellowship training in respiratory Medicine from the University of British Columbia, Vancouver, Canada, in 1995. He was awarded in 1988 the Dominic Corrigan Memorial Prize for proficiency in Medicine, Beaumont Hospital, Dublin, Ireland (1st place in Clinical medicine), as well as the Robert Mc'Donnell Memorial Prize for proficiency in Surgery, Beaumont Hospital, Dublin, Ireland (1st place in Surgery).
He was awarded the Kuwait Foundation for Advancement of Sciences (KFAS) annual award for publications in medical sciences in 2006. He has more than 60 original articles published in peer-reviewed indexed journals, as well as several review articles and book chapters.
His research interests mainly focus on the epidemiology of asthma, and he has published several articles about sarcoidosis in the Arab Population.
He developed an interest in evidence-based medicine through practice. He is also one of the founding members of The Evidence-based Medicine Society, which is under the umbrella of the Kuwait Medical Association.
He is the current president of the Kuwait Thoracic Society.

Prof. Mohamed AbdelGhaffar is widely recognized for his extensive academic and clinical career in respiratory medicine.
He completed his MB BCh in 1978, earned a Master's degree in Pulmonary Medicine in 1982, and received his MD doctorate in 1987. His academic journey continued with appointments as an Assistant Professor in 1993 and later as a full Professor of Pulmonary Medicine in 1999.
Throughout his career, he has focused on the diagnosis and treatment of a broad range of lung conditions, including lung cancer, asthma, COPD, emphysema, pneumonia, tuberculosis, pleural diseases, and chronic cough, in addition to providing smoking-cessation support and conducting pulmonary function assessments for occupational and pre-employment evaluations.
Today, he continues to serve patients at Al Kindi Hospital in Manama, where he brings decades of expertise to the field of respiratory health.
